| Cancer has touched and forever changed the lives of people that are dear to my heart. My mother is a cancer surviver. Both my aunt and grandfather lost their lives to this disease. Last March my friend's 5 year old daughter lost her battle with leukemia, and most recently this past October breast cancer took the life of another friend's mother. That is why I've decided to donate 100% of the proceeds of this piece to cancer research in hopes that one day soon a cure will be found. To learn more please visit www.cancer.org. When I started to design this applique I had Audrey, my friend's mother in mind. She was a fellow crafter who had a love for all things Americana, so I decided to use one of her buttons on this bag as well. I used a dark brown wide wale corduroy as the main fabric for this bag. I appliqued a star shaped flower with 8 leaves on the front. There are 2 pockets on the inside for holding your goodies and she closes at the top with a button and tab. This bag does not have any exposed seams making her completely reversible so it is like 2 bags in one! : ) |
